Francois-Marie Arouet, also known very well by his pen name Voltaire was an intelligent writer of the Age of Enlightenment and also a French Philosopher. His superior intellect, prudence, and writing style made him one of the greatest influential writers and philosophers of his time, even though he attracted a lot of dissension. Francois, with his forthright personality was a supporter of the social reform, in spite of the strict laws and tyrannical punishments; he still used his works to denounce Catholic dogma and French Institutions. Along with Thomas Hobbes, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, and John Locke, Francois influenced all thinkers in the French Revolutions and even in America. Being a prolific writer, he constructed over 21,000 letters and over 2,000 books in every literary form such as plays, poetry, novels, etc.

Born the 21st of November in the year 1694 in Paris, France, he's the youngest child of five and he is of middle class standard. His father Francois Arouet was a minor treasury and notary official; while his mother on the other hand, Marie Marguerite d'Aumart was a part of the noble family of Poitou province. He has his fathers and mothers first name also. Francois-Marie obtained his education at a Jesuit college called Louis le Grande. It's also located in Paris, France. Francois showed great potential for languages, such as Greek and Latin as a young boy. He also became fluent in English, Spanish, and Italian. On the other hand, he declared that he'd learned nothing but "Latin and the Stupidities." He studied law from 1711-1713, and he also worked for a French ambassador in Holland, he was his secretary until he dedicated himself to writing. Later on, he became friends with Parisian aristocrats. Francois's jocular poetic forms caused him to be a favorite in society circles.
