Why you wish to study in the UK and at the University of Strathclyde
It was not until recent years that I developed a great interest in the United Kingdom, its culture and its people. At first I was attracted by sport and the discipline of parkour formally known as the art of displacement and UK practitioners. It is a discipline which I practice and enjoy. Then I got to know further about its geography, its cities and its landscapes through documentaries, TV series and movies. I also learned about the UK and its role in the industrial revolution in the economics courses I was taught at university. Naturally I became curious about culture and education as I learned more about the UK.
From a small research I did on different universities and engineering courses I was able to take a glimpse at, the top quality teaching techniques and high academic standards that are offered to students around the country. Moreover I have found many courses of interest that I would like to follow at Master Degree level. Although I would like to study more than one postgraduate course in the UK, one of them became my first choice. It was the M.Sc Computer Aided Engineering Design at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. I believe that engineering design has the power to shape our future. Design as we know it, is a signal of human intention. If that intention is set the right way we may achieve wonders.
The University of Strathclyde caught my attention as a university of useful learning. After all what businesses and companies seek is useful knowledge they will be able to apply. I am also fascinated by the research oriented nature of the university and the well-defined and achievable strategic plan that it has set itself to for the upcoming years. It is also clear to me that although the main topic of concern is technological innovation, Strathclyde is also committed to its core values with a focus on respect for others and equality of opportunity.
