The story takes place in Alabama during the Depression. A family named Finch   consist of a little girl, Jean Louise "Scout" Finch. Atticus Finch is her father and a lawyer with high moral standards. She has a brother name Jem, and their friend Dill are fascinated by rumors about a man named Boo Radley. He lives in their neighborhood but never leaves his house. The next winter brings unexpected cold and snow, and Miss Maudie, their favorite neighbor, house catches on fire.
