Every college student has a lot to think about when choosing a college to attend. One of the most important things to think about is either to live on-campus or off-campus. When choosing between the two there is a lot to consider. The cost, privacy, you will have, and convenience all play a role in the decision making.
The cost between living on-campus and off-campus is very different. When you stay on-campus you will stay in a dorm. Most dorms have a cost that is already set, and many people who live in dorms also choose to go ahead a purchase a meal-plan. Dorms don’t often come with kitchens so that’s why most people just decide to buy the meal-plan. Living off-campus you could still be staying with your parents or have your own apartment, which is way cheaper. You will have your own kitchen then so you know that you would be able to cook and not have to worry about going out and buying food all the time. You will have more options on choosing what you want to do about food.
Students who live off-campus for the most part will have more privacy than another student who lives on campus. Living-campus you’ll have to share a dorm room with a roommate. You would have to share the studying space and sleeping space with one or more people. The students don’t have much personal space as a person who lives off-campus. Living off campus you’ll have your bedroom, your own studying space, and most likely your restroom. You would also have more space for your personal things.
Finally, convenience is different between living on-campus and off-campus. Living on campus is very convenient. Dorms are on campus so you have to travel far to get to many of your classes. If you wake up late you still have a good chance of getting to class on time. On the other hand, living off-campus is less convenient.
