Many teenagers fall in love, but are they really mature enough to? In the story Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, two unlucky teenagers of these enemy families become lovers and commit suicide. Shakespeare’s message is that Romeo and Juliet are too immature to know true love.
Falling in love at first sight is not always great, and that’s what happened to   Romeo and Juliet. An example of this is “If I profane with my unworthiest hand this holy shrine, the gentle fine is this” (I, v, 92). When Romeo and Juliet kissed, they thought that they were meant to be. Even more, Romeo and Juliet just met and they don’t know anything about each other . Another example is “What lady is that, which doth enrich the hand” (I, v, 40). Romeo saw Juliet and thought that she’s pretty, therefore, they only like each other for their looks. Also, Romeo kept going on and on about how beautiful she is, until he went up to her. Love at first sight isn’t real because you don’t even know anything about each other, and basically just like each other for looks.
Romeo and Juliet don’t really know what true love is because they’re still young and they do stupid things. An example of Romeo and Juliet’s youth is “She hath not seen the change of fourteen years” (I, ii, 9). Juliet just turned fourteen and she’s already getting married. Furthermore, her father was saying how she was getting married to Paris. Another example is “Younger than she are, happy mothers made” (I,ii,12). Paris was saying ‘the younger they are, the better mother they’ll be’. Also, Paris would be a good husband to Juliet knowing that he loves her, but they still are young. Romeo and Juliet don’t really know what they’re doing and they just ended up causing a big problem.
Romeo, being the player he is, forgot about Rosaline, the second he saw Juliet. An example to this is “O, teach me how i should forget to think” (I, ii, 217). Romeo was telling Benvolio how he got rejected by Rosaline, and he’s being emotional about...
