People Stay Connected Globally Today through Technology
Times have changed: In all 195 countries, virtually everyone is a proud owner of some type of digital device whether it be a mobile phone, game system, laptop, etc. Dating back to the early 1900s it was common for people to physically visit their friends and loved ones, phone them, or write them. Since the 1900s the digital era has surfaced. Communication plays a vital role in any kind relationship. Devices like cellphones allow us to contact our loved ones on the other side of the planet in just a few seconds. Thus, the effect of technology in keeping people connected is colossal. Presently, social media, smartphones, and the worldwide web have benefitted personal relations by linking individuals all around the globe.
Social media has changed the way people communicate with one another worldwide forever. Social media are websites that enable users to interact freely sharing personal information through a great deal of multimedia consisting of: pictures, videos, text, and audio. Social media has taken the world by storm; nearly every country around the globe is taking in on the action. Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram are among the most popular sites. While such websites are indeed use for personal reasons, conversely, these sites are also used for numerous reasons. For instance, Central Gwinnett High school among others created an app for students to download to receive school news information, sport events, and other forms of school business. Sport leagues hopped on the social media train as well by using social media as a way to connect with fans- from drafts, championships, and even the Olympics fans are allowed a voice. Commonly today, tweets written by fans are displayed on screen during half-time reports.
