Parents and their children hold a special relationship with each other. The relationship between parents and their children have a great effect on the child’s life. The relationship between a parent and child is one of the most important stages of life for the both of them. For the parents it is their responsibility as a good parent to able to keep the relationship strong and working. For the child, the relationship does not mean much, unless the child is taught that the relationship is important. This all relates to the fact of, if only the parent and the child doing their part in the relationship to make it work. If one does not want it to work, the relationship will collapse on its own.   In any given relationship, whether it be in a marriage, family or friendship, communication is the most important factor, if one wishes for it to survive. If Parents and their children have great communication skills the relationship is bound to succeed. Of the many different relationships people form over the course of the life span, the relationship between parent and child is among the most important. A parent-child relationship is a special relationship that has a huge effect on the way that the child will turn out.   The parents want to develop a strong bond with their child but they also want to maintain a healthy relationship among themselves along with their other friendships. Through life, the bond between a child and parent will grow. I will be comparing three different aspects in parent child relationship in three different stories that are “ Everyday Use” by Alice Walker, “To My Mother” by Wendell Berry and “ Alone at Last!” by Gina Barnett.
In “Everyday Use” by Alice Walker the mother is the narrator and she is described as a hardworking woman, who is able to take on the jobs of men.
