CHAPTER 1 – INTRODUCTION
Context of the Problem
Computer and network security is a new and fast moving technology. Security incidents are rising at an alarming rate every year. As the complexity of threats increase, so do the security measures required to protect networks. Data center operator, network administrators, and other data center professionals need to comprehend the basics of security in order to safely deploy and manage networks today.
Securing the modern business network and Information Technology (IT) infrastructure demands an end-to-end approach and a firm grasps of vulnerabilities and associated protective measures. While such knowledge cannot thwart all attempts at network incursion or system attach, it can empower network engineers to eliminate certain general problems, greatly reduce potential damages, and quickly detect breaches.
There is always fault management, fault software, abuse of resources connecting to computer networks. These are the main reasons which cause security problems for a network. Security problems are one of the main problems for computer network and internet developing. While preventing attack is largely based on government authority and responsibility, the detailed knowledge needed to thwart an attack on a cyber system to prevent damages rests primarily with its owner.
Managing security means taking risks and understanding how much risk is acceptable. Connecting a network to the Internet provides access to an enormous amount of information and allows one to share information on an incredible scale. However, the communal nature of the Internet, which creates so many benefits, also offers malicious users easy access to numerous targets. The Internet is only as secure as the networks it connects, so there must be a responsibility to ensure the safety of our networks.
Statement of the Problem
Having a secure network in any organization is one of the most important aspects of running the business. A secure...
