Below is an essay on "Medusa" from Anti Essays, your source for research papers, essays, and term paper examples.

So, I choose the Pedant with Head of Medusa to write about. So, its size medium size, its 12 by 7 inches, so pretty good size for a Pedant. The head of Medusa is set with a black background with gold. The head of Medusa is purple jade, with red, blue green stones set around it, like a Christmas wreath. There is a pearl at the end of the pedant too. It was created by Andrea` Alfred.

I want to believe that the Medusa Pedant was to ward off the evil spirits. This pedant belong to Count Steplan Keglevich, There is no real value to this piece. But Medusa was such an evil mythological figure that I would think by wearing this piece that it might represent getting rid of the evil spirits or another thought would be representing casting evil upon whoever saw it on the person wearing it.

For the iconographic aspect for this piece, I would say this piece has secular tale The main figure would be Medusa and the fact that she could turn anyone to stone, is pretty good and pretty freaking evil. The historical aspect it was created by 1885 to 1890. The piece was created during the modern art time. The piece fits this time Artist were creating pieces to just to create pieces. There was no real reason behind some pieces that were created. I want to believe that the artist created this piece just to do it, with no really meaning behind it.

Assignment 5 Heidi Mathe
I choose this piece because as kid with natural, uncontrolled curly hair that I could relate to Medusa to some way with her snakes in her head and me with uncontrolled curls. I also that I could somehow turn people into stone if they upset me or made me mad. Young and dumb but god did I have fun with this thought as a kid. Another part of the reason I picked this piece is I am going to review and describe pictures from Van Gogh, I didn’t want to do it twice with another artist.
