Good evening ladies and gentleman, boys and girls.
Firstly I would like to say a massive thank you to all of you for coming tonight, hope you are all having a good time.
Ma has always been a patient and kind person. She has and will always be like a second mother to me, always guiding me in the right direction and taking the time and effort to show me right from wrong. She has helped many, and is like a mother figure to more than just her immediate family.
Ma has a lot of hobbies such as knitting. I think that many people can remember when ma had her knitting “fad” and tried to make a business from selling home -made -hand -knitted cellphone covers. Even though that didn’t work she held her head up high and moved on to making hand-made tissue box covers.
For a grandma she is very mordern. She dresses in trendy clothes that suit her and today is a perfect example of that. I am ashamed to say that her cellphone is more recent than my old Nokia.
She enjoys watching bollywood movies and soapies such as Isidingo, All my Children and 7de Laan, just to name a few that cut into my DragonBall Z time.
One of the best things that ma likes to is to bake. Her jam tarts are tasty, her cup cakes are delicious and her sogi is out-of-this-world.
Ma is an exquisite cook and sometimes I wonder why she doesnt have a cooking programme. Wouldnt you prefer watching ma on the BBC Food Channel rather than boring old Jamie Oliver.
Ma, on behalf of all your children, grandchildren,daughter-in –law and sons-in-law we would just like to say that you are loved dearly and that we are glad to be here, celebrating such a wonderful person.
