Justification by Faith through Grace for Works
           Through faith, by grace, in a heart-felt, genuine belief that the Christ Jesus is Lord of all and Savior for the lost via the righteousness of God being bestowed upon men is the avenue of justification that leads to salvation and a life that is dedicated to sanctification and works.
God has made those who have placed their trust in Christ, righteous. He has justified them, us, through the giving of the free gift that is grace. He has made Christians free from sin, gilt and shame; declared us, in part, pure from sin. The work of justification doesn’t stop at our faith of the grace given, but continues on to a life being further set apart for God’s purpose of holiness.
"Justification is the judicial act of God whereby He justly declares and treats as righteous the one who believes in Jesus Christ." This justification originates in grace, through the redemptive and pacifying work of Christ who perfectly fulfilled the law, and is obtained by faith, apart from the works of the law.
Martin Luther, whose rediscovery of the truths about justification launched the Reformation in the sixteenth century, wrote, "When the article of justification has fallen, everything has fallen." He declared, "This is the chief article from which all other doctrines have flowed." He argued, "It alone begets, nourishes, builds, preserves, and defends the church of God; and without it the church of God cannot exist from one hour." He said that it is "the master and prince, the lord, the ruler, and the judge over all kinds of doctrines." John Calvin . . . called it "the main hinge on which religion turns." Suffice it to say, the doctrine and truth that is justification is very important to the Christian faith.
