There are many different types of jobs, no two are the same. I’m not very old; in fact, I will be graduating college at the age of 20, which is pretty cool to me. I have had jobs including a wide range of experience, from doing landscaping, to stocking shelves at Wal-Mart, to doing a remodeling job over the summer during high school. Right now I am working at a retirement center whenever I go home, but my future would be a construction manager for a big construction company.

      I love being a server in a retirement center for many reasons; first reason I like working there is getting to meet new people. These people to me are very wise, they have “been around the block” and know a lot of stuff that many people today don’t know about or don’t want to hear. Another reason I love working there is because me and a group of three people are the only people these elderly people see on a regular basis, their kids don’t come and see them but maybe once a week for a few people, if they even come at all. The pay was pretty good, I started at 7.25 an hour two years ago and now I’m up to 7.75 and I get a raise every year I work there, which may not seem like a big jump but for what I do it’s pretty good. My coworkers are pretty cool too, one of them is my fiancé so that is always fun, but I’m older than most the people there so I have to be the one to set the example for others and show them the ropes.

      My future ideal job would be a manager or higher up for a major construction business. One reason I want to do this job is because I love making a difference and watching a project come together, and being the head of that project is even better to me. The average person doing this job makes from 50,000 to 80,000 a year, which I think is a pretty good wage to live on and support a family.
