-In this quotation, Holden is telling us how his childhood was very lousy for him. This passage reveals that Holden may have grown up to fast, that is why he thinks his childhood is lousy. Holden also reveals that he was sent to Pency Prep, this may be a factor on why his child hood is so lousy, because of the fact that he is so far away from his family. This makes me wonder, why was Holden sent there?
-This passage shows Holdens innocence, because earlier Maurice told Holden that it only cost 5 dollars for the hooker, now Maurice is trying to take advantage of Holden with his size, but Holden knowing his innocence will not let Maurice do that. This shows how Holden is stubborn, yet at the same time not afraid of standing up for him when he knows his innocence.
-This passage shows how Holden has been through a lot of horrible things, and see’s some horrific things, this is why Holden thinks that his childhood is lousy, because of things that he had experienced. Not only did he witness his roommate committing suicide, but his roommate was wearing his turtleneck, because of that it just makes Holden feel that much worse knowing that his roommate died wearing his cloths....
