"What do you want to be when you grow up?" "Queen" was always my answer as an adolescent girl, yet upon watching the movie Frozen, I began to notice that Juxtaposing fairytale with reality would ultimately be useless considering how similar they are.   The University of St. Thomas and Arendelle, the kingdom in Frozen, are both a place where Elsa and I seek to one day be a part of knowing that it'll be a challenge with my rigorous after school activities and part-time job and Elsa with her future reign and full control of powers.
Both grow up with something their parents didn't have. My parents weren't able to acquire even the fraction of education that I am blessed to have today and Elsa, on the other hand, raised herself aloof due to the snow powers that isolated her from her ordinary family. That is until, things become a rather difficult to control. My presidency in Health Occupations Students of America, my consecutive rehearsals from Color Guard and part time job at Chick-fil-A soon consume my every waking moment. Elsa is left to deal with the burden she poses upon her parent and begins a downfall with the tragic death of her parents that lead her to inherit her father's kingdom without exposing herself.
Nevertheless, there is always a happy ending because like love in the movie, the University of St. Thomas is the answer. I know that attending UST allow me a 60% chance of getting accepted into medical school, while also allowing me to grow deeper in faith and develop a stronger relationship with my parents, whose judgment is crucial to my success. Still, a strong growing environment allows me to gain better knowledge and seek a greater relationship with my professor with the 10:1 ratio offered at UST. Like Elsa, who needed to run away in order to seek peace and comfort in order to execute her powers properly. This comfortable learning environment, which is suited for me, eases my worries further.
