It has always been a dream of mine to work for Nordstrom Corporate when I am older. I have always had a great passion for the fashion industry and I would love to be a part of it someday. Within the next five years I plan to graduate from college, do an internship at Nordstrom Corporate, and then continue to work up the corporate ladder. My ideal situation in five years from now would to be a buyer for Nordstrom Corporate in Seattle, WA.
I have had motivation for this position since I was a little girl. My mom worked in the fashion industry for over twenty years and eventually opened up her own shoe store. I loved dressing up as a little girl and really looked up to my mom and the work she did. There have also been many shows I would watch on TV about style, makeovers, etc. This passion always gave me motivation and excitement to be in the industry. I chose to want to become a buyer in the industry because my mom used to take me on her buying trips. I was fortunate enough to go to L.A. and Las Vegas with her to pick out shoes for the upcoming seasons. It was truly an experience that I will never forget. I know I can get into this business because I have been motivated to be apart of this life since I was five. It runs in my blood and I know that I will not be satisfied with life until I am part of it. I would say this gives me a lot of determination to follow my dreams. Having this passion for so long really makes me realize that this is what I am born to do. A positive leadership principle that I think I am constantly working on is knowledge of the industry and the ever changing of style. You can never have too much knowledge of style because it changes every season and you must be ahead of the game. I also believe...
