Rural Regeneration and Enterprise Manager – Ailsa Horizons
Ailsa Horizons is a Rural Regeneration Agency based in South Ayrshire. It is a Company Limited by Guarantee, with charitable status and a board of volunteer directors.
Ailsa Horizons was registered in 2009 and started trading in September of that year. It developed from a Social Inclusion projected run through South Ayrshire Council in 2002. The project continued with Government and European funding until the change in 2009. Change was imperative as communities needed an independent resource that could attract funding that councils could not and develop projects independently of the local authority.
My job tittle has not changed in the six years that I have been with the organisation although my role has changed considerably. At the outset, Ailsa Horizons developed a European Leader Funded project that worked with 7 communities to develop action plans for each of the communities.
