Life seems to take many twists and turns that somehow mesh into each other to form a chaotic knot of happenings. All of these occurrences are supposed to shape you into a wiser and more experienced person. At some point in life, everyone goes through a significant event that affects their perspective on their existence that helps them grow as a person. The event can be either big or small, but the knowledge gained will be everlasting. When that event happens, it becomes an unforgettable memory and teaches us a lesson that becomes one of the basic guidelines in our life.

For me, the significant event that made me became a better person was just a very small event. This event was one that most people wouldn’t find special and if not observed properly, one would never notice this small thing and would never bring any impact in one’s life. To me, the memory starts during the year of 2008 where I sat for my UPSR examination.

That year around July, I became nervous as the days passed and the UPSR trials were around the corner. That time, I felt that the sky was no longer blue; the sun had lost its shine; the land drained of its’ original color and the faces of the people around me had lost their spark. The UPSR trials were creeping nearer and nearer and none of us were ready for it. The loads in our hearts had became heavier and heavier till it was no longer bearable. We could no longer poke fun at one another or share a funny joke and enjoy our days in school as we did in the past few years. I can still remember clearly that my heart was filled with stress, anxiety, jittery and other mixed feelings.

With all these different feelings I felt, I pushed open the door that led to the garden outside my house. Overwhelmed with a huge amount of stress, I clutched my hands together tightly and was hyping myself to fight for the exam no matter the circumstances.
