When it comes to junk food higher taxes could work to control peoples eating habits, but it could also backfire if the poor still don’t have the money to buy the healthier food. In the case that the poor don’t have enough to buy the healthier food the government would be taking away the only foods they could afford by raising the tax on them just because they want people in a higher social class to be healthier. Higher taxes on junk food shouldn’t be imposed because that would hurt more people than it would actually help in the fact that most people who were overweight or obese would probably still make the same choice of what they want to eat.   The poor lower class would have be stuck to suffer because after the tax the food they were barely able to afford will be higher and they won’t be able to even afford that anymore. Starving the lower class because others choose to eat unhealthy would be rather unethical.
