The study of psychology looks at human behavior and the responses to any set of conditions. When we look at abnormal psychology we study the behavior of individual’s responses that are not the same as others in their environment.   In this paper we will discuss the differences in normal and abnormal psychology. We will also cover four separate mental disorders, anxiety, bipolar, schizophrenia and delusional Disorder.   Furthermore, we will discuss the four major schools of thought and how it helps us to define each disorder and the different types of therapies associated with them.

Anxiety has been describe by our text reading as an internal alarm bell that warns of

potential danger (Kowalski and Westen, 2011). They are the most frequent mental disorders

occurring for individuals. This feeling of this inside alarm of them leads them to dysfunctional

avoidance behavior. A person would refuse to leave the house for fear of a panic attack. Most

population have generalized anxiety disorder, which is characterized by persistent anxiety at a

moderate but disturbing level as well as excessive and unrealistic worry about life circumstances

(Kowalski and Westen, 2011). There are other types of anxiety disorders like phobia, panic

disorder, agoraphobia, obsessive-compulsive disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder. People

with one types of anxiety disorder have others.

There are several symptoms for general anxiety. Feeling restless is not exclusive to night

time or sleeping hours. The feeling on the edge in general or in a specific situation. The patient

may have feelings of inability to cope or control thoughts. Someone with anxiety may feel

fatigue from the emotional and physical stress of this disorder. Most patients are unable to keep
